Fred Ptucha – Climbers for Peace in Iran

Location: Round Table Pizza, 2065 Occidental Road, Santa Rosa

Time & Date: Tuesday, June 4, 2019 @ 7:30 PM (Social hour and free beer for members at 6:30)

Directions: From Highway 101 at Santa Rosa go west on Highway 12 to Stony Point Road Exit. Go straight from the middle lane at the light onto Occidental Road. The Round Table Pizza is on the right just down the road.

Come and hear the amazing adventure in Citizen Diplomacy of six Americans led by Fred Ptucha, who joined with members of Iran’s Mountaineering Federation to summit Damavand, an 18,605 foot volcano that is sacred to the Persian people. At age 75, Fred was the oldest American to ever summit Damavand.

After leaving the mountain they visited five Iranian cities and had meetings with hundreds of ordinary Iranian citizens. Most of them had never met an American. The people were amazingly warm and friendly and said how much they loved America even though they did not like our government.

With Trump, Bolton and Pompeo threating war on Iran, this is an opportunity to see the faces of the people that the United States warmongers want to kill.

It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness!
