California Snow Conditions

Postby splitclimber » Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:56 am

Just a heads up to the winter snow sliding freaks. LVNP is good to go with a 3-5 foot base. A nice 10-15 inches of powder on Sunday and looks like more is on the way.

It appears that Tahoe is still a little boney.

Oh, man. Let's go! Well, I should finish some projects first actually. Does mid week work for you at all? Day or overnight trip? Whats the drive, four hours?

I'm planning on going this weekend. Yeah, four hours to LVNP.

I can get some mid-week days off depending on my workload. I got a riding partner in Napa and we hit up Coast Range stashes too. I'll definately keep you in the loop on outings.

Hey Split Climber,
Are you and your wife available for a ski trip to Lassen this coming week? I may need models for a photo project up there. One-two days of your time is all I ask, good fun, publication in a national magazine, and (Hopefully) some money, is what I can offer. I'll cover expenses of course. Interested? PM me and I'll give you details.

Cheers,
Jerry

Edit:
Never mind. They didn't want to pay for it and want it the day before yesterday, and I sure as hell don't work for free. Geez.

Here is how Shasta is looking. Sargent's looks bad. It's gonna be an early season up there.

I guess I made it sound bad.

Moji, it's good....really good right now and none of the other access roads are melted out yet. No sun cups, or any of that, just melted out ridge routes and the rock fall is starting.. More snow on the way. :D

Hope you've been getting out this season.

I'm off the 26th-29th. Who's up?

I have a crash pad in Mt. Shasta. Bit more of a drive than Tahoe.

The area is called Ralstonia. Looks like maybe some decent rock up there too.

Chrisholm, check out this website

www.splitboard.com

I'll be doing a slideshow for the March RIM meeting on backcountry splitboarding and skiing.

If anyone is going to be at Lassen on Saturday or Shasta on Sunday-Tuesday and want to tour, PM me.
