15 minutes past the Berryessa Peak TH on Knoxville Rd is the Long Canyon TH.
Located just past mile marker 28.
Tuleyome - Deep Home Place - Long Canyon Trail
I was intending to ride up the canyon and then up to the ridge, but the trail seemed to put me
on the ridge. Oh well, no harm - I continued on up.
Lots of deer. Saw a bunch of small fawns.
Long Canyon sits right below The Blue Ridge. I was across the valley on another ridge, looking
out across Long Canyon. I kept seeing deer across the canyon on the far hillside.
Then, at one point some movement caught my eye. It was very far away, but something about
the way the animal was moving told me that this was no deer. It looked like a bear.
I snapped a few photos with my 20x zoom, but it was too far away to see with the naked eye.
It wasn't until I got home when I was able to check my pictures.
It was a bear!

Continued riding up the ridge. The trail was easy to follow. Not too hot, a stiff, cool breeze was
keeping the temps moderate.
Looking back towards Lake Berryessa

I made it to the top where the trail heads down into Long Canyon and loops around back
to the beginning.
From my high point, looking across Long Canyon to The Blue Ridge

It took me 2 hours to climb the ~1200' vert to the top. I was taking my time.
Then it was time to ride back down.
I chose to ride back down the ridge instead of completing the loop.
I'll save that for next time.

Really nice area. The scenery can't be beat. Very smooth riding, hardly any rocks.
I'll definitely be back to complete the loop. Only 45 minutes from my house.
