Charlie Barrett – Guidebooks and Hard California Traditional First Ascents

Directions: From Highway 101 at Santa Rosa go west on Highway 12 to Stony Point Road Exit. Go straight from the middle lane at the light onto Occidental Road. The Round Table Pizza is on the right just down the road.

Charlie Barrett is a native of Sonoma County, who has spent many years living in Tahoe and Mammoth. Charlie is a respected climber and guidebook author. He has authored bouldering guides for the Bishop area, Mammoth area and Tuolumne Meadows. As a sponsored athlete for Asana Climbing, Camp-USA, Static Climbing, Fixie Hardware and Maxim Ropes, Charlie has already made his mark with first ascents of many boulder problems and rock climbs in the region. He has also on a guest to summit all of the Sierra Club- Sierra Peaks Section Peaks in the Sierra Nevada range.

Charlie returns to talk about his Mammoth and Bishop guidebooks and updates to the Tuolumne Meadows Bouldering Guidebook. He also shares his recent run of some hard traditional first ascents in Tahoe and Joshua Tree. You can purchase his guidebooks through
